5S Inspections

Inspector provides a powerful scheduling tool to assist in the management of an organizations 5S inspections, including the planning of the 5S inspections, allocating 5S inspections to specific users or groups etc. Inspections can be viewed by site, location, due date, date range with mass allocation of 5S inspections to inspectors and groups of inspectors. 5S inspections allocated to a user or group automatically appear on the users To Do List on the mobile App.

Inspecting by Routes

Allowing a manager to define a route and then implementing that route during a 5S inspection improves efficiency, ensures all inspections are performed and can reduce employee training. The manager can specify the locations that exist on a route and the sequence of these locations. The manager can force the inspector to scan or enter each location that is to be inspected. Any number of routes can be defined.

Locations represent the logical layout of areas for example building, floor, room or country, state, city. Location setup is totally user definable and can be different for different sites. Being able to define locations that are appropriate for each site means that reporting and analysis of 5S inspections can be done at the correct level.

Dashboards provide the Manager with view of performance, included in the dashboard are key metrics such as 5S inspections to date, corrective actions created during inspections, corrective action close rate, overdue 5S inspections, overdue corrective actions, etc.

Dashboards provide metrics for overall performance but can also be filtered by item definition so that the manager can see metrics for separate items. These can then be emailed to a colleague for action, reporting or presentation purposes.

Drill down from the dashboard allows the manager to view the detail if required, for example overdue 5S inspections or overdue corrective actions.

Checklists are defined and associated with the item/location to be inspected. Using the mobile App the user simply selects the item to be inspected from their To Do List or can scan a bar code or enter an item identification, the user then selects from the available  checklists / inspections which are presented.

Images of the item to be inspected are available as are images that were linked to a step on the checklist, for example an image of how an area should look at a step asking the inspector to verify that the area is free from waste and is tidy.

During the inspection the user can capture numbers, text, dates, photographs, comments, signatures, audio and can also record observations at any point during the inspection. Questions on the checklist can record a score based on the answer given. The score can be defined when creating the checklist so that unique scoring methods or calculations can be implemented. A question can force a comment and/or a photograph based on the users response.

Once the 5S inspection is complete the user uploads the results to the cloud where they are available for analysis.

The Inspector mobile App allows 5S inspections to be performed both online and offline which gives the inspectors the ability to carry out 5S inspections in areas of a building or remote areas where there is no internet connection, results are uploaded once internet connectivity becomes available.

It is normal practice that 5S inspections will have a variety of inspection frequencies in terms of days, weeks, months and years. Inspector gives the manager the ability to define the frequency of a 5S inspection in terms of any number days, weeks, months and years.

Once a 5S inspection is performed Inspector will automatically schedule the next 5S inspection based the specified frequency for the checklist. 5S inspections can also be set to have no frequency or can be set manually. Scheduled 5S inspections automatically are available on the mobile App.
