Safety Inspections

Scheduling

Inspector safety software provides the safety manager with a powerful scheduling tool to assist in the management of an organizations safety inspections, including the planning of safety inspections, allocating inspections to specific users or groups etc. Safety inspections can be viewed by site, location, due date, date range and item definition, for example Fire Extinguishers, Lifting Equipment, with mass allocation of safety inspections to safety inspectors and groups of inspectors. Safety inspections allocated to a user or group automatically appear on the users To Do List on the mobile safety inspection App.

Inspecting by Routes

Allowing a safety manager to define a route and then implementing that route during a safety inspection improves efficiency, ensures all safety inspections are performed and can reduce employee training. The safety manager can specify the locations that exist on a route and the sequence of these locations,  optionally specify the Item Definitions that are associated with the route, for example Emergency Showers and Fire Extinguishers. The safety manager can also specify the items that are on the route and can force the inspector to scan or enter each item that is to be inspected. Any number of routes can be defined. An inspection sequence can also be enforced so that a user must inspect items in a specified sequence using the mobile App.

Locations

Locations represent the logical layout of areas in which items to be inspected are to be found, for example building, floor, room or country, state, city. Location setup is totally user definable and can be different for different sites and or item definitions. Being able to define locations that are appropriate for each item definition means that reporting and analysis of safety inspections can be done at the correct level, for example all failed Fire Safety inspections from a site, by building and floor, while failed Crane inspections are analyzed by State, City, Building.

Dashboards

Dashboards provide the Safety Manager with view of safety performance, included in the dashboard are key metrics such as safety inspections to date, corrective actions created during safety inspections, corrective action close rate, overdue safety inspections, overdue corrective actions, etc.

Dashboards provide metrics for overall safety performance but can also be filtered by item definition so that the safety manager can see metrics for separate items, for example fire safety, emergency showers, eyewash stations, etc. These can then be emailed to a colleague for action, reporting or presentation purposes.

Drill down from the dashboard allows the safety manager to view the detail if required, for example overdue safety inspections or overdue corrective actions.

Checklists

Safety checklists are defined and associated with the item to be inspected. Using the mobile safety inspection software App the user simply selects the item to be inspected from their To Do List or can scan a bar code or enter an item identification, the user then selects from the available safety checklists / safety inspections which are presented.

Images of the item to be inspected are available as are images that were linked to a step on the safety checklist, for example an image of a control panel at a step asking the safety inspector to verify that the machine is turned off/locked out.

During the safety inspection the user can capture numbers, text, dates, photographs, comments, signatures, audio and can also record safety observations at any point during the safety inspection. Questions  on the safety checklist can be given a score based on the answer given and a question can force a comment and/or a photograph based on the users response.

Once the safety inspection is complete the user uploads the results to the cloud where they are available for analysis.

The Inspector mobile safety inspection software App allows safety inspections to be performed both online and offline which gives the safety inspectors the ability to carry out inspections in areas of a building or remote areas where there is no internet connection, results are uploaded once internet connectivity becomes available.

Frequencies

It is normal practice that items to be inspected will have a variety of inspection frequencies in terms of days, weeks, months and years. Inspector safety software gives the safety manager the ability to define the frequency of a safety inspection in terms of any number days, weeks, months and years.

Once a safety inspection is performed Inspector will automatically schedule the next safety inspection based the specified frequency for the safety checklist. Inspections can also be set to have no frequency or can be set manually. Scheduled safety inspections automatically are available on the mobile App.
